E25: 5/6 May

This is just a reference entry for us, you can readily skip this one….

After visiting Schloss Linderhof we drove towards Fussen ready for the next mornings visit to Schloss Neuschwanstein.  When we arrived there it was late in the day (I should add that the temperature earlier reached a bonkers 29C !) and we discovered that ‘overnighting’ in the castle car park was not allowed.  So we went a few miles up the road and stopped in this roadside lay-by for the night.  As it happened I forgot to take a photo and the following morning the skies opened and it was non stop rain until about midday.  Then as the weather improved we drove to the castle and took this photo on the way back later in the afternoon (hence a sunny photo).

After Schloss Neuschwanstein we continued along the Romantic Road, visited Wieskirche, then stopped for the night in the Stellplatze in Pieting.  This turned out to be a lovely place to stop and wind down after a busy day!….
