On our return from Sirmione we spent a little more time in Desenzano, an engaging place with an attractive old harbour and steep lanes leading up to the castle where there are spectacular views (especially on a clearer day!)

The local Carabinieri caught our eye……. or should I say something caught theirs!
By the end of the day we had built up a healthy appetite and Kate created this Bergamo inspired Focaccia topped with caramelised onions, anchovies and Buffalo mozzarella accompanied by a Caprese salad...….. it is quite amazing what can be achieved with just a gas hob and a Double Skillet!
