Looming over the Wornitz river and the medieval village of Harburg is the 12th century Schloss Harburg (I actually took a photo of a photo to get this view) ….
We climbed up the hill and toured the castle grounds, the buildings are perfectly preserved….
Upper gate house from inside the castle grounds….
with a impressive wooden portcullis with intimidating iron tips….
these buildings are said to be teeming with ghosts (didn’t see any tho’!)….
Excellent view of the river Wornitz from up here and the 17th century stone bridges that span it….
The view from the aforementioned bridges up to the castle….
The village is typically medieval (and cute!) ….
as above hehe….
Fabulous fort/castle love the decorative features. Marvellous photography! Hugs and love, Mumski xxxxxxxx
